I'll break down these two essay questions for you.
What may differentiate you from the other candidates?
What added value can you bring to the school?

The adcoms of most masters/MBA programs are interested in knowing this answer. But first, you should understand how these programs run. A large part of the class learning is based on student participation and also, most clubs and extra-curricular activities are student-led. Hence, its important that students bring different personal qualities, skills and experiences to the class so that they can contribute a new and meaningful perspective that benefits their classmates.

With this in mind, what are your key personality traits, skills or experiences that differentiate you from others (your college or professional peers) around you? Support your answer with examples of situations that demonstrate your key differentiating factors (one example for each).
Once you have explained what differentiates you, the second part is an extension of that - how will you contribute to the program. You need to know what you are good/best/unique at, but more importantly, you need to understand whether that would be valuable to other classmates. So, first understand the program you are applying to thoroughly- look at its website, talk to adcom members, talk to students and alumni. What are the areas that interest you and where you can make a valuable contribution? Explain how you will contribute there. A cherry on the cake is- how will you leave the community better than what you inherited.

IMPORTANT: if you don’t understand the program properly, you will not be able to make a sound analysis here.
