Can you please provide a profile evaluation based on the details given below. I'd have love to say that I'm asking for a friend, but I'm not. LOL
· Demographics (nationality, gender): Indian, Male
· Education (undergraduate institution, GPA, major - high school/entrance exams not needed): B.Tech Computer Science, from Vellore Institute of Technology. GPA: 9.18
· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education: None apart from couple certifications
· GMAT or GRE or EA score (include section breakdown): GMAT 720, Q49/V38, IR: 5, AWA: 5
· Work experience (briefly highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure): Total 4 years of work experience
1.5yrs as a Software Developer in Travel Industry. Worked as a developer but also worked in Tech adoption for external clients (some outside India)
2.5yrs as a Consultant in Enterprise Cloud Industry. Started as a Support Consultant, moved to Tech Consulting for Cloud Implementation projects and business transformation. Majorly working with international clients and teams from APJ and EMEA and US regions. Took up mentoring and multiple technical innovation side projects.
· Extracurricular activities (briefly highlight notable undergraduate and post-undergraduate ones):
Mentoring in Clubs/Chapters in Under Grad. Took up writing (blogs) as a way to share innovations about Cloud, Business process automation and innovation, Web3, crypto, NFTs
· Post-MBA goals:
Product Management. Want to remain at an intersection of Tech and Management. Gather more management skills to lead diverse teams, ultimately taking up an Executive role.
· Target schools:
Top US B Schools. I need help with this majorly. Who would not like to aim for Ivy? Values at Harvard echo with me, just like they would with anyone else, but not necessarily I'd get in with the overall profile (and this GMAT score). What should be my Reach, Target and Safe schools based on this profile?

School selection, areas to stand out, GMAT retake (this was my first attempt), I have just started looking into the application process, is there enough time to be ready by Round 1 deadline in US schools?

The application process is truly holistic, and committees will look at your stats (GPA and GMAT), work experience, and extracurriculars.
Your GPA of over 9.0 is strong, so that is a good start. Your GMAT is also strong, though compared to others in your demographic, it is a bit below the average. If you haven’t already, I suggest taking it up to 3-4 times. You have nothing to lose since schools will only look at your highest score. And even a slight increase can boost your profile. You may still want to illustrate to the schools that you have the academic ability to succeed in the classroom. You could showcase your quant ability in your resume, your recommenders could do the same in their recommendations, or you could even take a supplemental course such as stats or calculus.
It is hard to gauge your work experience without knowing your accomplishments and impact you have made there. It is nice to see that you have done some mentoring, although mentioning any leadership experiences would be beneficial to your application. It’s important to show you have made an impact and demonstrated leadership at work. Ideally this will be supported by strong recommendation letters as well. It will also be important to explain why you want your MBA, and to also illustrate the skills you already have which are transferable. Be sure your story makes sense, and is realistic and specific.
Regarding extracurriculars, make sure to really emphasize your leadership roles you have taken on, ideally post-undergrad.
If you continue to strengthen your profile, you do have a chance at some strong schools, but they are extremely competitive, and each school simply does not have the room to admit all the world's qualified applicants. For that reason, I suggest you apply to several schools, including reach, target and safety. I think the top 10 schools will be reaches, but after that you have a chance at top 20 schools. Hopefully they will see that you have a compelling story and are someone who will add value to the classroom and community.
And lastly, I would suggest you apply by the Round 1 deadlines. At least try to submit 1 or 2 schools by then. Good luck!
