I am working in one of the biggest ladies Footwear Store in the district. It is a 40 year old store. I started here as a manager. But I explained the advantages of simple management principles to the proprietor. I used the unique methods of sale used earlier and simple management basics to create a style of management fit to the outlet. My best recommendation was to shift the sae system from bargain to fixed price. On the complete renovation, I used my engineering background to help in the plan of sitting and fitting of shop. And there are many examples i can quote.
I help my uncle as a part time help. He owns a whole sale stationery outlet. On festive occassions, he put up a kiosk outside to sell decorative materials. This is the most learning experience because handling tens of customers at a time and selling things was somewhat liberating. Working at different retail stores help in analysing different types of customers.
