Hey Everyone,

Need some advice on target programs and the chance of success of 28 y/o candidate's profile.

GMAT: 680 48Q 36V GPA:3.0/4 Toronto graduate for BSc Human Biology
Exp: Toronto biotech firm (US based) to a junior manager position in government contracting and policy lots of ECs in healthcare and developing countries.

Goals: move to San Francisco area for healthcare venture capital or investment banking (but the goal longer term is to run own VC fund) — if you guys have alternative ideas on what might be better suited for this profile.
Schools: To this profile, Do Canadian schools & American schools better choice? OR any other schools?

Thanks for sharing your profile. I think you can target a few programs in both, Rotman in Toronto could certainly help you break into IB, a +700 GMAT would probably be necessary to break into American Investment Banks. But I think you really need to settle on your career goals first so you can better target schools that will fit your needs

Hi - As a former PE/VC/I-Banking professional, I would recommend that you do not forget that unlikely things happen with bit of work, networking, and luck! You have great industry expertise. Schools like Wharton, Tuck, Duke, BU with healthcare programs would be a great start - in addition to NY-Finance feeders schools: Columbia/NYU. I-Banking sellside is pretty different from VC buyside. You may want to get a bit of advice on how to differentiate the careers and your candidacy for MBA and positions.
