I was waitlisted in an university without interview !!
At this point, it is difficult to forecast the timing of a final decision or the likelihood of a favorable outcome. We will continue to review applications and will provide you with updated information as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please only contact us with any, significant changes to your application, including updated test scores, enhanced job responsibilities and/or professional recognitions or certifications.
The median GMAT is 635 and I have a 600.
I sent them a reply saying that their university is my top priority and that I have decided to take GMAT again in 6 weeks. And asked for the time frame within which the score is expected. And that I am excited about the new opportunity at work, my start up and personal blog.
They replied saying
Thank you for your email. The final international deadline is March 1; therefore, you would have until that time to provide updated scores and additional information in support of your application.
We thank you for your interest in the XXX MBA program, and will be sure to contact you by email with any change in the status of your application.
I have few clarifications !!
1) How long can I take to write the GMAT again??
2) Will they wait for my score or update on my profile for 6 weeks if I send them an update after 3 weeks saying I have progressed in my job and ask them to hold on??
3) Would a new job offer strengthen my profile now ??

My thoughts:
1) How long can I take to write the GMAT again??
Generally most program review on a rolling basis but will typically lump you in with the subsequent rounds of evaluation, so you want to try and get the GMAT done sometime during the evaluation period which is usually starting at the deadline and a few months after that for each round
2) Will they wait for my score or update on my profile for 6 weeks if I send them an update after 3 weeks saying I have progressed in my job and ask them to hold on??
They will not wait for an update from you, they will evaluate the information as it comes in but a decision will not be automatically come just because you provide an update. But depending on the timing of the decision you may be able to get both updates in. Part of your initial update can reference a forthcoming update on your GMAT

If the job offer, is an upgrade or an improve in your profile that aligns with your future career and development goals, it can be seen as a positive

Thanks a lot for the response.
The point about the new job and its relation with MBA made a lot of sense.
I would update them in the next three odd weeks saying about my new opportunity and add that I have booked date this time ?? So that I have my app on hold.
Would that be fine ?
