Planning on matriculating in fall of 2011.
Graduated spring of 08 from state university. GPA was not great - 3.2. Got full time job a year before graduation at a start up doing everything under the sun (sales, marketing and advertising, strategy etc) but not sure if this counts toward w/e. a few months after graduation got accepted into a rotational leadership dev program which I am currently in.
Took GMAT last year without a real reason and scored 580. Retook last week and scored 680 (44q 40v). Plan on retaking next year one final time as I can do much better in quant.
e/c - volunteer in food pantry, Tutor and Mentor a fifth grader, work with teens at church, participant with Junior achievement and united way, volunteer with rebuilding together. Basically most of my EC are focussed on Education and kids. I am also looking to start a community outreach committee at work next year and I am in line to do a couple more things pertaining to education (e.g. serve on some committees).
Looking to switch careers to Marketing with an MBA. Currently looking at
Duke, McCombs, Darden, NYU and Michigan. Considering applying through the consortium for all except Fuqua.
Please provide a honest assessment. I can take it

Your community involvement is quite varied and impressive. Your GMAT score is fine for all the schools you named, but given your GPA if you can raise it, do so. Your work experience is lacking, for now. Assuming you can build up some leadership and impact at work (some evidence of 'fast-track' promise) and can keep deepening the leadership you're showing on the community side (maybe consolidate your involvements so you have fewer commitments but ones that show maximum leadership/coordination of people), you will have a chance at all these schools. NYU and Michigan may be reaches, but the other 3 could be "competitive" schools.
