Hi Scott,
I was hoping that you could take a look at my profile to see if I have a shot of getting into Northwestern or Michigan's part-time program. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for your time
-Hispanic-American male (26 years old)
-2 years of nonprofit work (teaching) 1 year of Investment Banking and 1.5 years of Private Equity
-4.0 undergrad GPA in Economics
-Some nice high-profile awards during college including being named one of ESPN's student athlete of the year finalists
-LOW GMAT 580 -which is an improvement from the first
So do you think this GMAT score is just too low for both of the above schools pt programs even with very strong recommendations? My goal is to combine my business and nonprofit work to setup a scholarship fund for high-school students to attend college. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks for your time and help Scott.

Wow, I love your background! Lots of things that will set you apart from the pack. We normally find that applicants are TOO focused on their GMAT scores, but your score probably is low enough to keep you out of a top program like Kellogg or Michigan. The PT programs tend to be a little more flexible, but I recommend doing what you can to boost your sc0re by 50 points or so (if possible). Keep in mind that your GMAT score demonstrates yoru intellectual capability, which other things like recos and essays can't really do. So, those other components can only make up for a low GMAT score so much.
Also, you're slightly young compared to the average PT student. This is okay, as long as you have good reasons for wanting a PT degree rather than a full-time one.
