China Focus Courses Doing Business in China - General managers in China are constantly challenged by a changing business environment. This required course emphasizes the realities of operating a business in China today. It will prepare you to face the major issues through a focus on past mistakes and best practices.
Apart from the above flagship China Focus course, more electives are available under "General Management in China" career track, covering topics like leadership, management, marketing, finance and investment in China.

Meet our alumni in China Our alumni come from a diversity of cultural backgrounds and excel in many Chinese industries. Students are expected to complete the MBA in 16 months. Those with considerable work experience and international exposure may join the accelerated 12-month option upon approval at admissions.
12-month Option The general criteria for eligibility for completing the program in 12 months are strong work experience and significant international exposure. Approval for the shorter duration is given on an individual basis at the discretion of the MBA Office.
16-month Option With largely the same curriculum as the 12-month program, the full 16-month program includes an optional internship in the first summer and an Exchange Program in the fall of the second year. All 16-month full-time students are guaranteed a place in the exchange program, which will enhance their international exposure and help them develop a more global perspective.
The curriculum is composed of 52 credits, with around 60% gained through studying required courses and the remaining 40% though elective courses.
Required Courses The HKUST MBA program offers a strong foundation for success in management through rigorous study and an emphasis on creativity, analytical thinking and teamwork. At the heart of the Western-structured curriculum are required courses in business essentials in both global and Chinese contexts—covering everything from financial knowledge and management strategies to communications and responsible leadership.

Electives Electives comprise over 40% of the curriculum and let you delve more deeply into the subjects that matter most to you and your future. Students joining the international exchange program can take electives in partner schools and transfer the credits back to HKUST. I am planning to apply to HKUST for the class starting in 2013..What concerns me though is lack of financing options for international students at HKUST. Unlike most other top Asian B-schools (such as the NTU and NUS in Singapore where education loans are offered by DBS & OCBC at very nominal interest rates to international students without any collateral), HKUST clearly mentions on its website
"Given limited access to local financial schemes, international students studying in Hong Kong are strongly encouraged to arrange study loans in their country or region of residence"
This is a discomforting thought because I hail from India, where the interest rated for education loans are steep and require collateral .....Wonder if somebody can help with some more information about regarding this.
As much as this forum is about bringing in greater awareness of the school itself, I'd like to make this more a Q&A; session for future aspirants. I got quite a few inquiries over the past few weeks from quite a few folks and answering the same questions n number of times is not very efficient.
