Hi everybody,
I'm seeking to apply to Masters programs at higher tier UK schools, specifically the new MFA at LBS, the MSc Fin at LSE, Mphil in Finance at Cambridge, and the MFE at Oxford
My background:
-BCom in Finance (with honors) at the second ranked university in Canada - Cumulative GPA ~3.96/4.0 US GPA
-Multiple scholarships for academic excellence, along with a pretty competitive one for being top 5% of my class
-Internship experience at China's sovereign wealth fund and a law firm
-International exchange experience at Guanghua school of management, Peking University (average of ~95%)
-Played a sport at a provincial/national level, good ECs, volunteerism
-Good refs (a somewhat famous prof in the academic world and a former MD at GS whom I worked with at the CIC)
The thing I'm worried about is my low GMAT in comparison with other potential applicants. The oxbridge programs tend to require at least a Q50 right? I only have a GMAT 750 (Q48, IR 8), and I'm afraid that this will put me at an disadvantage at these schools where quant skills are so highly prized. A Q48 is probably not enough to be competitive with many applicants, especially applicants from Asia with strong quant backgrounds. Can somebody please shed some light on how I should proceed, and which programs I should apply to? Should I retake the GMAT in search of a higher quant score?
Thanks in advance
JS
