I guess the easiest way to answer this is -

Say you have two positive integers, x and y where y > x

Then the number of integers between x and y is given by - (y - x) + 1

In this case, it's (107 - 51) + 1. Option D

From 1 to 107 total no. of Integers = 107

From 1 to 50 total no. of Integers = 50

Total Integers from 51 to 107 = (Integer No. from 1 to 107) - (Integer No. from 1 to 50) = 107-50 = 57

P.S. This question is Sub 600 level and definitely not a 600-700 level question

No offences but the methods of using formulas need to be avoided as much as possible and this formula is totally unnecessary for everyone to know.

Learning the basic always helps in GMAT...

Apply the formula for number of items in an arithmetic progression 51-107 inclusive is an arithmetic progression: 51 - 107 increasing by 1

107-51 /1 + 1 =
56 +1 =57

$$107 - 51 + 1$$ = $$57$$

When we are including both the first number and the last number, we must add 1 to their difference. Thus, the number of integers between 51 and 107, inclusive, is 107 - 51 + 1 = 57.
