Day 75 12.40AM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MYSELF!!!!!!!!

Birthday resolution -------

1)Be helpful
2)Be kind
3)And crack that freaking test..........

Today i reviewed all DS ques from OG general not advanced for word trans....

Also practiced PS prob ratio Advanced 100% accuracy...

I am still thinking should i read ch 13 on cobinatorics and statistics....from word trans....
Because i read it somewhere that there is very less chace of that topic to appear and even if it does ..There might be just 1 or 2 ques.....
I have covered the basic part of combinatorics and probability..It was not very difficult for me....

But the now the question is about time......

I am already running behind my schedule....By 1st week of dec...have to cover 2 CAT's including 1st gmat prep + gc diagnostic........

Day 76,77 and 78..

Very less study in these 3 days....

completed ch 13 word trans....Still need to practice the problem set and few OG ques's....

Tested myself on Gmat club diagnostic test...



Here is my score break up...

4/15 == 650 Level difficulty

7/15 == 700 level

9/15 == 750 level ( And 3 incorrect due to calculation error...Almost i had 12/15 correct)

However i find this accuracy little weird because how can a person get the average/basic questions incorrect and getting 700 - 750 level correct mostly.....

Also after 2 months i am testing myself in any test..during this period i read MGMAT guide 1 and 4.....

Mostly i made errors in rate, geometry,algebra and combinatorics......

But again comming back to my question how is this possible?

also i am satisfied with the test in terms of finding and then poking holes in preparation without that its a blind study....

I know which all topics i need to practice now.....Have decided not to read from mgmat guide for some time rather GC club got a very nice book on gmat math...will read that also there are specific topic questions that i am going to find and start practicing.....


Have done the review till 31ques..still few ques left...

Tomorrow i will kick M25.....

Day 79 1.14AM

Completed GC diagnostic review took me around 3 hours...Wuuh long time..But i like reading all the explanations..After all these tests are also a good way to learn new concepts and strategies....

I am afraid that i have to stop studying gmat for 3 to 4 weeks as i have one more mba competative exam coming in 1st week of jan ...I just have one month to prepare for it...Lets see..i will try to revise all gmat concepts weekly....

I guess after that exam i can pace up and start doing CAT's....

Completed Number properties(basic level) from Mgmat in one day now will work on advanced chapters.

Next on the agenda is Word translation.

Also i am reading the same topics from Gmatclub math book.

Doing on and off studies these day....

Did first 50 RC(9 passages) questions from Verbal review 2nd ed.

Have more than 90% accuracy on inference, main idea and evaluation questions but almost 0% accuracy in Logical structure,supporting ideas and application questions.

Now onwards i will do 2 Rc's everyday.

Number properties book completed now will practice question from OG.

Completed Mgmat Num system theory and questions of advanced both Ps and Ds.

Completed Mgmat word trans theory and questions of Basic and Advanced both Ps and Ds.

DS accuracy 95%.
PS accuracy 62%.

Why am i doing so many silly mistakes, Sometimes i laugh at myself while reviewing the solution.

Agenda for 17,18 and 19 Aug.

Start Mgmat Geometry and SC book.
Start doing Gmat club challenges atleast 1 every day.

Yesterday took gmat club diagnostic test 20/45... after reviewing i thinking i should have got 15 more correct, they were not at all tough just were tricky.

Now and onwards will keepon taking mocks and sectional tests and will revise theory whenever needed.

Target for today- gmat club challenge M01.

hi,

Really i need some help from u. . . . my verbal score is very low around 19-21 in GMAT prep. How i could improve the verbal score.

I once read MGMAT SC and Power score SC bible. But wat ever i am not able to approach the verbal problem strategically. . i am just using my spoken knowledge to guess the answers.

Please advise me how to improve in verbal.

You have nice set of books, i would say read a chapter, complete the quiz, work on OG and dont move forward unless you have more that 85% accuracy. If accuracy is low go back to theory again and then practice questions from gc club verbal thread. Emphasize on error log and understand your weaken areas.

There is a big chance you will see improvement,if not, you may want to consider some different set of books(veritas or arirstotle) or courses (e-gmat).
