Can I give my recommender's gmail id as well, because my recommenders are not willing to give their official mail ids.
Will there be any verification happening from the B-Schools side?

private123 , you should first inform the schools about the situation and they will advise accordingly. It is not an unusual scenario as recommenders may be in the process of a job change or are unwilling to share recommendations from their official ids because of other reasons (schools understand that). The schools will do due diligence and some verification, but in the end, it should not affect your chances.

Best wishes

Hello private123,

A Gmail id is ideally not preferred. You must reach out to the school stating your concern and gain consent in this regard. Once you have consent, you may go ahead and share a Gmail id. If you have an optional essay, please use to also explain this situation.

All the best!

I am an Indian IT Male with 4 years of experience and planning to shift to another company. I would be in the new company around in the month of May.
I am done with my GMAT and planning to apply for Round 1 of US B-Schools.

I want to know how this shifting in company is going to effect my profile?
If I shift can I give my previous manager details(personal/official mail id?) for recommendations?

Hello private123,

How the shift affects your chances depends on how many jobs you've changed in the last 4 years. Yes, generally, it is advised to not change jobs right before application submission; however, if your new role shows growth and if you have a valid reason for the switch, you should be ok.

Yes, you can always give details of your previous manager. Do remember to address that your current manager is not a recommender in the Optional Essay. You may state the actual reason for the same.

All the best!

Thanks for sharing your question, yes you can apply for the Round 1 application, the issue will arise if you are shifting one company to another on a very frequent basis, but this is not the case where you come across any issue, I would recommend you make sure your new job reflects positive impact in your carrier in terms of projects, community service and your growth potential also if your looking for application You have a series of things to concentrate, you have to stress that now you need to build the profile, get your strategy aligned with the right course/college, ensure your profile adds to your short term and long-term goal.
