Hi,

I have am a PR professional with an experience of 7.5 year and undergrats score of 71% in Journalism & Mass Communication. How do I choose the best college and what factors should I keep in mind or focus on while applying

Hi Swarish,

I am assuming you want to get an MBA and not some other degree course.

The foremost question would be - what are your expectations from an MBA? What do you want to learn out of it? While all the MBA programs will give you more or less the same skills, it is the way they do it that will differ between them.

Here is an article we had written, which answers your question on the factors that you should consider while selection b-schools: https://mbadecoder.com/factors-selecting-business-schools/.

Here's an article that explains how you should do your b-school search : https://mbadecoder.com/b-school-selection/

Yes i want to get MBA only. Just that i am not sure that if someone who is not from finance background (like in my case, i am from PR) can go ahead with finance as major or is only left with marketing?

Your pre-MBA career or academic background doesn't preclude you from pursuing a particular major. You can take Finance as your major.
