That's strange. I certainly didn't provide that, since I didn't tell my employer I was applying for an MBA. Where does it ask for that on the application? I don't remember that.

An online application under "Required Documents" has:

"The following documents can either be uploaded through the online application or sent via post to IE Admissions Department or to your closest IE international office:

* Two letters of recommendation signed by professors, entrepreneurs, freelance professionals or persons holding a management position.
* Organizational chart indicating the current position held by the candidate.
* Photocopies of diplomas or certificates accrediting language skills, courses, other exams, seminars, or other programs undertaken by the candidate.
* Certificate of current work (company letter stating your current position, start date within the company and type of contract).
* Photocopy of passport or ID card."

I am looking at IE for next years intake and I find the 'organizational chart ' quite intriguing. Am I supposed to provide something official from my company and or is it something I can design on powerpoint ? How much details are they expecting and do they want to see where I am in relation to the CEO or something ?

In my opinion you don't need to send anything offfical on that point.
I provided a complete org chart on one slide with me, the CEO and all the people in between and it was fine.

Hello All-

My name is Antonio (Tony for short) and I'm 31 from Los Angeles, CA. I have been accepted to IE and have recently reserved my spot for the April 2011 IMBA English intake.

I have worked in China, Vietnam, and Los Angeles doing import/export. Mainly contract manufacturing and store fixture manufacturing with some sourcing work thrown in for fun.

I had an average GPA from UC San Diego and scored a 660 on the GMAT.

I'd be interested to talk to anyone that will be going to IE in the Nov 2010 or April 2011 intakes.

Cheers,
Antonio Sena

You have to pay the reservation fee at least 3 months before the start of the program.
Thus you may definitely apply for April 2011, but best is to ask adcom.
If you confident in you ability to beat the GMAT, you could even apply now and send your GMAT score as soon as you get it.

Hi, I just accepted an offer of admission for the Nov 2010 intake. Very exited, and looking forward meeting everyone in Spain.

Right now I am working for in IT for a bank in NYC.

Hmm...all very interesting.

As someone who owns /runs his own LLC where I am the only full-time employee (not including outsourcers), am I supposed to write a letter by myself, about myself. An org chart with just my name? LOL

Hello all,

I'm preparing my application currently. I've a question concerning reporting of GMAT score to IE. I couldn't find anywhere mentioned that report has to be sent officially via GMAC. However, there's a possibility to upload the score card as a softcopy.

Can somebody please advise whether uploading is sufficient or do I need to request an official reporting to IE as well?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers! SH

Hello again!
I've yet another question (apologies for my naivety  )...I submitted my application a few days ago and uploaded most of the required docs except for the following: signed statement & university transcripts, which I've posted via snailmail. All these steps were as per directed in the online app form.

My question: how long does IE take to acknowledge receiving the complete application? Do I need to send a follow up etc?

A feedback will be appreciated. Thanks!

Cheers, SH

I have been accepted for IE-April 2011 intake. I had few questions. After getting notified for intake, Can I defer my admission to November? If yes, do I need to inform the university about the same? Also, the school informed me that my seat will be reserved for 30 days and after that its given on first come first serve basis. If that is the case, then till when should I be able to get the seat for April 2011 intake if I decide to join that batch? Can I make the payment as late as January 2011?

Also, is anybody aware of the scholarships best suited for Indian students?

hsourabh -- I think it wouldn't hurt to send an e-mail to your local IE representative letting them know you've submitted your app and look forward to hearing from them. You'll probably hear from them in 2 to 4 weeks about an interview (or rejection, but let's not talk about that!)

dhiran -- yes you can defer to the next intake, no problem. But I'd tell your IE contact about this as soon as possible. Definitely do it before you pay any place reservation, because that makes things slightly more complicated. Although, it's possible to defer either way, I believe.

meghash3 -- You can find a lot of alumni in various Facebook groups. There's no required dual degree, but some optional programs. There are on-campus jobs, which are considered a type of scholarship/fellowship. Search for information about the "IE Fellows program." I think you can only work off up to 50 percent of your tuition. The highest I've heard of anyone getting is 45 percent. Most people only got 10 to 25 percent. The number of hours you work corresponds with the tuition discount. Also, if you join the Facebook group for the Nov 2010 class there is a discussion thread about the things asked during the IE interview. It varies depending on which interviewer you get, but most are fairly straightforward and ask questions similar to what was on the application.

shaselai -- I think you have a shot with a good application!

sanlitun -- I made my own organization chart with Microsoft Paint! It reminded me of what a lowly worker ant I really am!
