Let the square represent x

1 + x + 2 + 6 = 12

x + 9 = 12
x = 3

Let the triangle represent y

y + 4 + 1 + 1 = 12
y + 6 = 12

y = 6

x + y = 6 + 3 = 9

2+6+carry forward + □ = 12
□ = 3 (carry forward = 1)
4+1+carry forward + △ = 12
△ = 6 (carry forward = 1)
△ + □ = 9
