Since the answers are so far apart, we can find an approximate answer.


As \(3^3 = 27\), the value of \(3.14^3\) to the nearest hundredth is 30.96(Option B)

The answer choices makes it easier to select the right choice.

n=3.14 , n^3 = 3.14^3. The closest answer choice is B.

Rounding decimals is very similar to rounding other numbers. If the thousandths place of a decimal is four or less, it is dropped and the hundredths place does not change. For example, rounding 0.643 to the nearest hundredth would give 0.64.

If the thousandths place is five through nine, the hundredths place is increased by one. The decimal 0.646 rounded to the nearest hundredth is 0.65.

3.14 = √10 (approx)

So, 3.14^3 = (10)^3/2 = 10√10 = 31.4 (approx)

Closest Ans is B

n = 3.14

i.e. \(n^3 = 3.14^3\)

i.w. \(n^3\) = approximately 27 but greater than 27

Hence Answer: Option B

Sine we see that 3^3 = 27, and 3.14^3 will be close in value to 27, the correct answer is 30.96.

Nearest number to 3^3 i.e 27 is 30.96
