If x/2 + y = z, what is the value of z ?
=> x+2y = 2z

(1) x + y = 1
=> x+2y=2z => 1+y =2z
Insufficient

(2) x + 2z = 2
=> x+2y = 2z => 2-2z +2y =2z => 4z =2y+2 => 2z= y+1
Insufficient

1+2
We get same information in both. No new information

Answer: E

Subtract 1 from 2
we get Y = -1 + 2z
and from 2 we know X = 2 - 2Z

Hence putting the value of X and Y in X/2 + Y = Z
We, get Z = 1

hence, C is the correct answer.

=> (2-2z)/2+(-1+2z)= z
=> (1-z)+(-1+2z)=z
=> 1-z-1+2z=z
=>z=z

At end we just got z=z. Can you please check how you got z=1 ???? . We are not getting value of z at the end .

Answer should be E

I wrongly took X as 2z - 2 instead of 2 - 2z
hence, Answer is E
