If x and y are integers, what is the value of x?

(1) The sum of the squares of x and y is equal to the square of their sum.
(2) The product of x and y is less than their sum.

Statement 1: says, x^2+y^2=(x+y)^2
2xy=0, therefore, XY=0. either x or y or both could be zero. Hence insufficient

Statement 2 says, (x+y)>xy,
does not give the value of X, hence insufficient

Combining 1 & 2, we get
X>0, says positive however does not give definite value of X. Hence insufficient
