bb Yes, You are right.

But how will one year program help to compete with the International one year MBA program?

I don't know much about IIMA but it seems it is well known in India and has a good strong path for recruiting.
I don't know enough how things are on the ground in India for a mid-ranked US program vs. IIMA. My understanding is that IIMA alum and recruiting pipeline are very strong. While if graduating from Olin or Questrom one would have to recruit on their own .... not sure if one can command a premium from an international MBA in India. You guys may know better.

At the same time if one wanted to work/end up outside of the US, going to a US School is the only choice.

IIMA is definitely a huge brand in India. But my primary concern in US is opportunities post MBA. I would need to take loan for education and it can be very stressing. Which other parameters do i need to see to decide ?

You would not get many things in your lap after BU. You would have to recruit on your own. Off campus and leverage your resume that hopefully has some brands on it. There is no guarantee and the performance depends on you and luck.

You could do the MBA+MS that would give you a stem OPT but likely has extra cost.

Unless you are set on going to the US, I think IIMA is a safer and stronger play - big fish in a small pond but still....
