I got admitted to both Imperial College Business School and LSE for MSc Finance programs. Which one would you recommend and why?

Thanks.

Hello 170896

First let me congratulate you !

This one is easy question to answer.

Although I do like Imperial and would not mind go there, LSE is consider to be best and most famous school for Economics and Finance in Europe.

Here are some relevant rankings :

https://news.efinancialcareers.com/uk-e ... nt-banking

https://www.crimsoneducation.org/za/blo ... ic-schools

https://www.topuniversities.com/univers ... -vs-europe

http://www.best-masters.com/ranking-mas ... urope.html

https://www.businessinsider.com/qs-rank ... tegories-4

Having said all that, you cannot go wrong with Imperial either, just LSE is still consider to be strongest brand in economics/finance in Europe (along with LBS), especially you are interested to go even further after MSc degree, for instance for PhD degree.

LSE in academic sense is unmatched, in practical sense, for just finding a lucrative job upon graduation, I think any London school will do a trick.

Good Luck with decision :geek:

Spot on

Totally agree about billionaire usual

I totally agree with the above. Most notable financiers figures in UK and Europe come from LSE. It is specialized in masters. They have tough requirements too.
Good luck

I lived in London for 1 year and studied there. LSE is one of the best School in UK for Economics and Finance.
Imperial is new but has a long way to go to match the LSE.

My suggestion: LSE definitely

LSE from me too. Big City guys go to Imperial not for finance grads but for engineers and scientists. LSE is located in Aldwych, which turns into the Fleet Street, which in turn was called the Gate to City in old times. The point is LSE provides much better networking opportunities.

Imperial is probably the European MIT, but it's business programs are not as well regarded as MIT's. Long way to go.

Congrats and good luck!
