Hi,I just gave my GMAT FE yesterday and scored 675 (Percentiles: Q94| V51| DI 98). I screwed up verbal real bad as you can see

Just wanted to check if this should be a point of concern? Do B schools generally take a look at individual section performance?

Looking for some clarity here as I might retake the test if this indeed turns out to be a pain point.
Hi Somava16,

Sectional scores are important, however, they also lay focus on your overall profile which includes your academics, work experience, skillsets built, and so on.

We recommend discussing your profile in depth with our MBA consultants as they will be in better position to help you make the right decision.

It is understandable to feel disappointed. However, a V-51 is still an excellent score that many business schools would view favorably. Business schools do look at individual section scores, but they generally focus more on the overall score and the distribution across sections rather than fixating on minor drawbacks in individual scores.
Given your overall strong performance and the fact that your verbal score is already good, retaking the GMAT solely for a marginal improvement in verbal may not be necessary unless you are aiming for a very specific program with exceptionally high score expectations. Evaluate whether the effort and potential improvement in your verbal score align with the requirements of the business schools you are targeting. If your target schools have average GMAT scores significantly higher than 675 FE, especially with higher verbal expectations, then retaking might be worth considering.

Conclusion: Assess your target schools' average GMAT scores and their emphasis on specific sections to make an informed decision about retaking the exam. If your overall application is strong and aligned with your career goals, a retake may not be necessary based solely on your verbal score.

Wishing you the best!
