Let the six digit number is abided
f =a+b+c
e =a+b
a = c
b =2a
d=e+f
Now
f =2a+b
So
f =2a+ 2a =4a
e= a + 2a =3a
Now
d = 4a +3a =7a
As d is a single digit number so only value of a possible is 1 and value of d is 7
Option C is the answer

Posted from my mobile device
Initial six digit number is abcdef , it is typo in my earlier answer

Hi! thank you for the great solutions!!
Archit3110 could you help me with this one!

Even though I managed to get the 7A as the 4th element of the number, I got wrong the answer because of the following
i) Knowing that the 4th digit has a value of 7A, then I must find value of A
ii) Value of A can be between 1 and 9
iii) Find the largest unit number
7*1=7
7*2=14
7*3=21
7*4=28
7*5=35
7*6=42
7*7=49 -> BINGO!!!! 9 is the largest Unit number, meaning that the answer should be "E=9" Why is my approach wrong??
7*8=56
7*9=63

Thank you in advanced!!

whenever solving for digits look for values which when used in given information matches the given information.
Since its a 6 digit number & with given relationship amongst digits , so only single value since 6 digit number is possible abcdef
its given that:
f=a+b+c
e=a+b
c=a
b=2a
d=e+f
f= 4a & e = 3a
d= 7a
we need to keep in mind that value of a should be such that it does not result in a 2 digit ; since d=7a so max value of a can be is 1.
and abcdef would be ; 121734
what you have done is found 2 digit values , which is wrong.

hope this helps :)
