Got in! Got an email saying they were trying to call me yesterday but weren't able to reach me. I called my AO and received the good news.

AO = SH
Nationality = US citizen (working in and interviewed in India)
Campus = Fontainebleau

I'll post my interview experience soon. Good luck to everyone else!

waitlisted!!! No call, got a mail from SH

How was ur interview experience? Care to share?

I scheduled both the interviews on the same day with an hour gap.
By the time, I reached the interview location I got the admit mail from ISB. So I was pumped up!

First one was with a recent alumni in a coffee shop. We planned to complete the interview in 45 mins, But we went on for 2 hours.
She was my undergrad college alumna, and we both were part of the same on campus club. She asked me majorly about my career decisions and why MBA now. I asked a few questions about the life in INSEAD, how did she make the transition into general management. But I felt that she was expecting me to ask more questions about INSEAD.
Overall it was a friendly conversation and she told me to contact her for guidance related to INSEAD.

Second one was in a hookah bar/coffee shop with an older alumni. He is in a leadership position in a multi-national tech company. I went in formals with a blazer and it was awkward at the beginning. He went straight to why MBA?
Then a few follow up decisions about my career decisions and the post MBA plans. He asked me a lot of questions about my understanding of business, what can the government do to help entrepreneurs, What are the problems of entrepreneurs etc. These were mixed with a lot of hypothetical/ role play scenarios. He stressed about my entrepreneurial plans after MBA and why am I choosing specific markets. I went blank when he asked me what will I do, If I do not secure a loan for the year at INSEAD. Finally, he told me how INSEAD helped him and a few differences between INSEAD grads and other b-school grads. He also offered help for any queries related to INSEAD. After this 2 hours interview, I felt a bit divided as he indicated that one does not need an MBA to succeed as an entrepreneur and the admission decision will depend on the mix of the class this year.

I was totally exhausted after these 4 hours and totally forgot to send them thank you notes.

Oh well thanks for the sharing. You seem to be having the good/bad cop combi too. It is true
that it is abit harder to make a case for entrepreneurship as a CG for an MBA.

Will share my exp too once i am more free.

IMO I do not think INSEAD does a "good and bad" combo on purpose. I think that is just how some of the interviewers are. Mine was like that too, but I know people that have had very easy interviewers both times. I think it is more important to research your interviewers thoroughly and try to anticipate what sorts of questions they would ask.

To be honest, I was happy I had a tougher interviewer that asked about areas in my profile that I am sure the AdCom had questions about too.

I agree it can sometimes be beneficial to have 'tough' interviewers who ask more questions. I think I have a strong profile but not a strong brand name in terms of my current employer. The work I do is quite high level and very enriching, and if i had an interviewer that didn't probe my profile in depth then i would have missed the opportunity to sell myself.

Hence generally, I do prefer a slightly more challenging interviewer. However, i would also think that the interviewer who asked 'you have to explain why you changed
universities' etc is abit well, too mean. I changed university as well. I did law in the beginning but didnt think thats what i should pursue so i changed to economics etc.
My interviewer seemed sympathetic to this so i was lucky

That makes sense. I guess my preferences are slightly different.

My "tough" interviewer literally moved my resume to the side, and said "honestly, I do not think INSEAD is for you". But I had my answers as to why it is. At the end of the interview, he agreed that I had done my research and INSEAD would be good for me. He was never rude or mean, but he was tough at times. And I expected tough questions from him based on his position and background, so I prepared for them.

I really need to do my interview review!

I dont believe that there is a good cop bad cop policy. It is just a matter of luck.

I had both good interviews.
The first interview was in a cafe on a sunday. The interviewer has a similar profile and aspiration for his mba bid. The standard questions were asked such as why not other schools, US, etc. And we had conversational style discussion themed around my work, my financing and what i will do during specific insead social cultural events. Approx 90mins

The second interview was in another country and in his office. Basically, he owns the company. The interview was very casual. He had prepared a piece of paper with all the standard questions found online. however, we spend less than 15 minutes intermittently on these questions. We spend the main part talking about his career, sports, my life, etc. Approx 90mins.

in the end, both interviews asked difficult questions. But those questions are not meant to kill. I answered them badly. But it is more to discuss about certains aspects of the mba which i have not yet considered.

Hope it helps.

Any R2 applicants gotten interview calls today?

Hi, are R2 invites sent on a rolling basis - or is it that all invites are sent on the interview invite deadline (12th December) ?
If rolling, any idea whether people have started receiving invites?
Thanks !

Based on R1, it seems all interview invitees were notified within a week of the decision deadline. I think there is some relation between the AO and when the candidate was notified (i.e. candidates with the same AO were notified around the same time).

I was notified on the decision deadline day itself.

I was really hoping it will come out earlier because I only have a 10-day window between now and when I have to go back to work in a remote camp. How much time do you have to complete your interviews? What happens if you can't schedule them in time?

Let me share my experience since I have been following this forum but haven't contributed as much. I am a Russian/American working in Asia.

Got the interview email early on 1 of the interviews was relatively easy to schedule & 1 had to call including the day of to confirm.

First interview was very conversational - lasted about 45 minutes & walked out feeling confident. For the second interviewer, English was his 3rd language and it was much more Q&A style including some confusion, also lasted about 45 minutes. He was really nice but when I left I didn't feel confident I got my point across.

Result: Admitted.

I can elaborate on interviews & my experience, feel free to message me.
