Thanks for sharing your thoughts

After I had decided to reapply, and just before pushing the submit button, I started having second thoughts. Finaly decided to stay on the waitlist, and in the worst-case reapply for round three in few months.

I think you made the right choice. Personally, i would wait and apply in R1 of the round after.. as round 3s are just too unnecessarily competitive.

I did late last week, left a message and actually got a very quick response back which was nice. But aside from the sincere thanks, i suspect the majority of the email was standard as it included " For the moment there has been no change in the status of your application on the waitlist. Please rest assured that we will contact you immediately if a place becomes available for you. Thank you for your continued patience."

Its upto you, doesn't look like bugging them helps, but if it makes you feel better (it kinda did for me), give it a shot. I don't think it could hurt, but would definitely help your mindset. After my call, i had the realization that i've really done all that i could for INSEAD, and its really in their court now. It actually helped calm me down.

I called up my coordinator. She was sounding too helpless and said that there are no seats left in any of the two campuses. We will let you know in case anyone drops out etc etc etc. When I insisted that its getting too late, she said that we understand that and hence if you feel that it will be tough to manage logistics etc at this stage, let us know and we'll strike you off the wait list :(

Well, to be honest freeze we can use our great mathematical minds to combine the information you have heard with the fact that all those people have paid a big chunk of their tuition and most likely already secured air tickets and accommodation. So the likelihood of a drop out at this stage isn't great. Lets hang in there 1 more week.

Realistically what do you really need for logistics? The biggest two things would be giving your job notice (if you are working), and landlord notice (if you are renting, or renting out your place). Aside from that, its packing your bags and getting to Fontainebleau. I've thought about it and figured someone could realistically still stay in a hotel for a week while they sort out accommodation if they really arrive late.

Thoughts? I think its a tricky question, as i've had to pack for business trips and get to the airport a couple hours after finding out about the trip.

anonislis, Two people reported being accepted from the waitlist, a few others were turned down outright.


Overall, i think this has been the worst possible outcome of my application and interaction with INSEAD. After my campus visits, i really wanted in, but now, i feel like i've been let down and strung along....

Look, two factors still support one more movement.

First, there hasn't been a movement since November 17.

Second, Insead grants two-week extensions to admits that find it "hard" (or just wait for final decisions from other schools) to pay the second installment. The final decision deadlines of Harvard, Stanford, LBS and Wharton range from December 14 to December 20.

I agree with gamester that it is possible to make it in short notice, especially if you are single or without kids ( I have two).

So don't lose hope, things ate not done yet.
