It doesn't seem that any of the forum members have received any sort of answer... It's a bit disconcerting, I wonder if it has to do with the disproportionate amount of people admitted for round 1.

Does anybody have the current student count w/nationalities?

Dear fellow "waitlisted"...

This is my first post...

I'm in the same boat... and have been in limbo for the past month and a half (since I got that fateful email!). INSEAD was the only place I applied to... and so really hoping this works out. I havent sent any "follow-up" stuff yet, as not sure how to phrase it/ what to include...

What are you guys doing... anyone planning on a campus visit? other strategies?

Any clue on when are we first likely to hear back.. I understand most of Europe is on vacation in Aug...?

Would be great to hear from you all..

In the meanwhile.. lets hang in there... hopefully things will get better (one way or another)!

I just counted the number of waitlisted in the september intake active in this forum and the number who got eventually admitted. I might have missed some and there still is a possibility of additional late admits.

Here is the number:
46 waitlisted of whom 22 have been admitted.

I think I can have a margin of error (miscounting) of +2/3 on the number of waitlisted.

It comes down to a ratio of 50% more or less.

Even though this forum doesn't gather the whole applicant/waitlist pool, it stills quite representative I think.

Hi All,

Received my email yesterday morning, been walking around dazed for the past day still not sure what could have gotten me on a list. I'm shocked but still hopeful. Don't worry Sach, with such a large amount of Indian applicants, you have a greater chance of someone dropping out, rather than smaller groups, and being selected to keep the balance.

Hey Guys! I heard that it is almost impossible to say when they will provide us some news... Hopefully before october. But, when I visited fonty campus, the staff there told about a waitlister who received a positive answer by the end of December.

Anyway, fingers crossed and the best luck for all of us! It will work out! Have a nice we!

From the main forum i can see there are about 427 people already registered. How many is the total intake for January? do we know?

Also curious to know when the first payment deadline is for the R1s and R2s... I'd guess this will give us more of a timeline for list movement.

Normally, INSEAD takes 500 people each year. This year they took way too many people in round 1 as compared to previous years.
I am from India and they have already taken 56 people from India. Last year they admitted 57 indians. hence I am not optimistic about my chances.

Hello sam0114! I'm Brazilian, a R1 applicant, and we also have a Mexican placed on the WL. Nevertheless, it seems that there are really few people on the WL. Hopefully we all will receive a positive answer! Keep faith!

Nothing yet, from the looks of the January 2011 waitlist there were a few offers in mid-October and some in mid-November. I believe our waitlist will be compared to the R3 applicants and the Adcom will then decide whom they would like to make offers to.

Wow, seems that insead is not following the same pattern as they had last year (when they took a good amount of people off the WL). That sucks, seems like more and more schools are holding people on the waitlists recently Wharton, LBS, all were the same with painful waitlists.

mitsloanguy, what do you think is holding you on the WL?? I think I remember one of your earlier posts in the insead forum your profile sounded pretty strong. I think you said you are an MIT undergrad, consultant at mck/bcg/bain and even sold a business as an entrepreneur, etc. what more do these schools want, albert einstein or the son/daughter of royalty!??
