Re: INSEAD Waitlist January 2016 Intake [#permalink]
Zhou1865 and others on the waitlist...

Should I inform my interviewers about this? I think it's only polite to let them know the outcome, but this isn't an 'outcome' as yet.

Can the alum/interviewers possibly be of any help in this situation?

Those who have been on the waitlist before/are on the waitlist, what are your thoughts?

Thanks.

(Ranjeet, all the best! Stay calm. )

hey mangosmoothie,
RE applying for R1 while on the waitlist, I don't think that's an option, might be wrong tho. you can inquire from your AO but i think it's a no-go.

You can always inform your interviewer but again I doubt there's anything they could do from their end.
For me 'waitlisted' is practically an outcome maybe the worst due to its uncertainty, I've read online that at various univs some applicants were offered last minute spots but couldn't raise the funds and had to decline so the uncertainty is a huge factor. And again not every waitlisted applicant is admitted at the end. Applicants usually apply to selected univs for this same reason - avoiding rejection/waitlisting. Basically you could either take your chances and hang in there or pursue other opportunities.

Thanks Jasonmak.

I checked with my AO - can only have one application open at a time.

I'll just wait patiently I suppose.
I have applied to other schools but INSEAD is my first choice.

best of luck Mangosmoothie,
As well, keep the adcom informed on any major changes to your profile in the meantime as this might boost your chances - promotion, career change, gmat should you have plans in re writing etc.

Hello,

I called the admission team and there will not be any move until round 4 final decision (beginning of October).

Hi, does anyone else have offers from other schools?
How do you deal with being on the waitlist at INSEAD while having an offer from other school/s?
Let's assume INSEAD is your first choice.

Has anyone asked for an extension of the deposit deadline?

How does one go about doing it? What should I say? How long is typically granted?

Thanks!

Got off the waitlist - got an offer to start at fontainebleau in jan!

So thrilled!

Thank you all for the moral support thus far! :)
For those still on the waitlist, I wish you all the best!

great news mangosmoothie,
I guess no need to talk about extending your deposit deadline for your other offers :)

Did you actually inform Adcomm on your other offers and that accelerated the decision or you were just hanging in there?
Great news and best of luck for jan.

Hi Jasonmak,

Thanks! :)

I did inform my AO that I had another offer, and that I'd appreciate being informed about INSEAD's decision soon.
She thanked me for the update and said that she'd get back to me as soon as she had any news.

I've been waiting since r3 as well.

Getting so nervous and I'm not in a demograph that is easy to get in (Australian, chinese) and also doesn't help that I'm in banking - though it's a head of division role. Read somewhere that 470+ people have accepted and 11 or 12 Australians have accepted already?

I don't have much hope since mangosmoothie and I'm guessing others have already started being informed...

Hey whiteshields1830,
I know it's pretty tough but no need to be nervous now as you did your part already (the things you can control). Unfor with time, the waiting gets worse but just hang in there.
I doubt being Australian or Chinese would increase your chances, I believe it's the other way around, might be wrong tho.

I am curious as to where you are getting these figures, 470+ and 11/12 Australians accepted? gmatclub, insead stats,... not sure on average how many Australians Insead tends to accept each intake.
best

Yeah I wouldn't increase my chances...hence I wrote it didn't help my chances haha.

I got those figures from the insead 2016 intake class thread.
