Hi Paul,
I am finally finished with the GMAT, and I would appreciate your opinion on my overall profile.
25 year old caucasian male
BS in business management from no-name directional state school
2.8-3.0 GPA
I have taken the GMAT three times and here are my respective scores:
6/06: 610 (Q39 V36)
9/06: 620 (Q34 V41)
12/06: 680 (Q49 V34)
Obviously I have some odd fluctuations in my scores, but i'm assuming that ad comms will focus on my highest test score. Will I be viewed in a poor light since I took the test three times? Are there any schools that will evaluate me using my highest individual Q and V scores (i.e., Q49 and V41)? I've heard Dartmouth will do this, but i'm not sure if that is accurate.
I currently have 2 years of full-time work experience, and will have 2.75 upon matriculation. I am currently employed as a Qualified Plan Specialist with one of the largest retirement plan administrators in the country. Before I started this job, I was a successful financial advisor for around 18 months. I have a Series 6, 63, and 65, in addition to my state's life and health insurance license.
My LORs will be from past supervisors when I was a financial advisor, and they will be highly complimentary.
At this point, I am aiming at schools such as Georgetown, WUSTL, Vanderbilt, and IU-Kelley. Are these realistic options? Can you think of other options that might be in my range? Are there any top 10 schools that will evaluate me based on my highest Q and V scores, rather than my highest overall test score?
Thanks for the feedback!
