I am interested in getting my MBA with the goal of working in the Investment Management. I was hoping to get advice on schools that value the CFA & CPA designations and are open to candidates with a lower GMAT score (650). I received rejections from Columbia and NYU in the first round. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Profile:
undergrad GPA: 3.3
MS accounting GPA: 3.6
GMAT: 650 (Q45)
Work Experience: 7 years; 5 years in Corporate Accounting, 2 years in Treasury at major energy firm
Designation: CFA Charterholder & CPA

I'd look for the "bargains" in the new Business week rankings- in other words- some strong programs that fell a little in rankings but are still good and may be off on applications and perhaps willing to dig down into 650 range. Also look for schools with strong experiential learning- UNC Kenan-Flagler has great experiential learning with investment management but not sure they will dip to 650- but work looking into. Here's the BW article: https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2017 ... s-schools/ and some of the programs with the downward trend that may be open to consider you- Rice, Emory, Texas A&M, BYU, Kelley, Mendoza. I think all of these are great programs- so look to see who has the best experiential learning but I think there is a good program for you!
