iPad 3 will come probably next year and I'm one of the first buyers if it has high-resolution screen. I don't need lighter or faster or with superb cover or fancy color or even 4G. Maybe e-paper screen would make sense for reading.

They have just released iPad 2... so iPad 3 won't be introduced even this year.. iPhone 5? That's a more interesting question. Rumors go that they will relese it in autumn. However, Steve won't present it as today he resigned.

P.S. Just to drop a name, I have met Tim Cook in person during one of the pilgrimages my company made to Cuppertino to talk to Apple (most of those trips ended without any kind of result but hey - I can brag, right?)

i think too many people are riding on the "safe-haven" apple stock these days. if the firm doesn't put out something better than the last product, it's going to drop a lot just because people are now expecting more and more out of the company and any little imperfection to going to have a greater marginal effect on the stock. That's just my .02

Their price did not bulge (after an immediate drop). Market went down 2% today. Apple stayed put at -0.65% change

Walker may be able to shed more light - he has both iPad 1 and iPad 2.
I believe his original feel was that the iPad2 was not good enough to upgrade but if you have nothing it does not mean you don't buy.

yes! wait for Ipad3 or even 4! Let me tell you a fun story about Hamlets dillema to buy or not to buy... I wanted to buy Ipad last year in August, but a friend of mine told me "hey, why not to wait few months and buy Ipad2?" It sounded very reasonable to me, so I waited a month, two, three... untill march! After iPad was released in USA, the next day first Ipad2 was sold in Russia for 5,000$. So in March and April prices were starting from 1,500-2000$. Oficial sales began in June ...10 months later when I wanted to buy Ipad. So, if you want to buy it, buy or stay tuned and wait for "few months" as I did :lol:

:D I waited last year and bought a Nikon D3100 when I couldnt get an iPad. Now, I have asked for a friend to get an iPad2 for me but with this news, I'm having second thoughts..

Why doesn't apple launch iPad 3,4,5 at the same time and put all the resistance to an end lol!
