Is my GMAT Score enough?

Question

Hi Everyone,

I recently appeared for my GMAT Focus Edition and scored a 635.

I am a final year undergraduate student and aiming for Deferred MBA Applications in April 2024. B-Schools include Harvard, Wharton, Columbia and MIT Sloan.

My GPA is 3.7-3.8 (after conversion). I have a BTech in Computer Science and my college is among the top private universities in India.

I have held 2-3 leadership positions in various clubs and chapters during my college time, organized few large scale events and also ran the largest student-run organisation in my college. I also have an internship at Big 4 (Partner's Letter of Recommendation) and a full time offer from another Big 4.

My concern is that is my score good enough for these schools or should I Target a higher score in next 3 weeks?

Please suggest what should I do in this situation and suggest a recommended score for these schools.

harveyyyyy , There isn't really a magic GMAT number . That being said deferred MBA applicants from India (for that matter regular ones too) to your target programs frequently score in the 740+ range (on the old scale). So yes, a retake will be highly recommended to complement the other aspects of your profile. Also, you don't need to convert GPAs unless a school specifically asks for it. Without significant professional experience to substantiate claims of career excellence, academic credential carry significant weight in the decision-making process. 2. You did not provide a breakdown of your 635 GMAT FE score. A balanced overall score instills more confidence. If your score lacks balance, indicating a significant shortfall in one section, a retake is recommended. No GMAT score can guarantee an admit; however, the Deferred MBA programs are a lot more competitive. Your current score puts you in the 87th percentile and with the competition that exists for the programs you are targetting, it would be advisable for you to retake the GMAT and apply with a better case at hand.

I am in the same boat and targetting for top B school in Europe, although I am applying from North America instead of India. Wondering if that would make a difference in terms of application sucess rate?
