Hi,
the reason is redundancy....
MAY talks of uncertainity/likelihood and probable too talks of uncertainity/likelihood.......
so Only one of them should be used
1) It is probable that the prototype cellular motor will be ready for testing around the end of next year.
2) the prototype cellular motor may be ready for testing around the end of next year.

Usage of probable and 'might/may' are redundant. Hence, A,B,C are out.

'Should' is an obligation and doesn't go well with 'probable' . Hence E is out.
