Hi, I completed my B. Tech. in 2024 from IIT Kanpur. Have been working as a data ENgineer at mastercard since then (So will be 3 yrs work experience as planning to apply for 2027 intake - Probably will get 1 promotion till then). I got gmat focus score of 665. What kind of schools can I target ?

Hi Yash, you have a strong academic record and solid work experience, including your time at the PSU and your startup initiative. Being waitlisted at ISB shows your profile is competitive, but you should think about having backup options and planning ahead.
you could explore other Indian MBAs, or foreign schools in the US/Asia/EU... probably mid-to-top tier MBA programs abroad where your GMAT (currently 655) and profile give you a reasonable chance. so ~top 20 shcools in the US / top 10 in EU/UK - these could be realistic targets with some effort to strengthen your GMAT if possible.
I would suggest focusing on raising your GMAT toward 700+ if you can, preparing a strong application narrative highlighting your startup experience and PSU achievements, and then mapping out schools with a mix of target and safe options.
