It’s not an official question so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Maybe I’m wrong maybe I’m not

You are correct. It is not an official question. I created it. I have also posted the explanation and clarified that it was an experimental question. I am open to being questioned.

However, I did come up with the question keeping the GMAT logic in mind.

What if we negate option B?
If there are other hormones that could cause tremors then wouldn’t the conclusion that high levels of hormone X cause tremors get weakened?
Ah! I get it! Let us negate B. B says, ’There is no other hormone that causes tremors.’ So, the negation would be, ’There are other hormones that cause tremors’. Now, tell me, does that invalidate the conclusion? The conclusion is ’When hormone X exceeds normal concentrations, tremors are induced’. So, even if there are other hormones that cause tremors, I can still say, ’When hormone X exceeds normal concentrations, tremors are induced.’ Of course, if I said tremors are caused only when hormone X is in high concentration. There, I bring in an element of exclusivity. Remember, my entire argument is about X. The logic you are using is to strengthen or weaken. In an assumption question, negating the answer option must invalidate the conclusion. Does it do that here? It does not, right?

When you’re concluding that high concentration of X is the reason for tremor, you’re kind of implying that other reasons don’t exist. That’s why you’re making that conclusion right?
Otherwise you should say that high concentration of X MIGHT be the reason for X

Let me draw an analogy. When I drink cold water, I fall sick. - Does that mean I do not fall sick when I do not drink cold water? In fact, I can fall sick due to other factors.

Or does this mean drinking cold water alone causes me to fall sick?

The assumption that there is no other cause is specious.

Of course, if I said it is the only cause, the assumption would be plausible.

From gmat study plan chat
"refrain from egmat. 1. Extremely long material - similar reviews by many in my connection 2. material is too incoherent 3. No general notes can be build for future reference 4. Questions for practice are too far away from the OGs. 5. Course is not in par with the GMAT needs
like message. You may need 4 months to complete it, if you study 2-3 hours daily. Leaving no time to take practice tests, OG pratice.
like message. I had it, i left it in the mid as it was only eating my time, and I started studying alone or with a partner. GMAT is not a maths test or english test, GMAT is reasoning, and EMGAT teaches maths and english, rather than reasoning

It is process oriented which is not at all practical when you barely have 2 mins/Q. Some of the solutions run into 7-8 mins. Definitely under the exam pressure, you ain’t getting that right in the first place, much less within 2 mins. It is suitable for school kids where you got to follow the steps. Definitely for GMAT, the course sucks. Big time.

I totally agree to this. Their steps to solve questions are always too long, breaking into concepts and then coming to the answer is what not going to work for GMAT. Anyone preparing for GMAT has basic idea of math and english concepts."

There are some topics on assumptions written quite well. Assumptions are always unstated. So it is not a repeat or conclusion. An assumption is an invisible bridge between the statements and the conclusion. If you break the assumption, the bridge is gone and conclusion will not work. Finding assumptions is actually a fun exercise.

By choosing a smaller, more basic gasoline powered motorcycle, a rider can come close to duplicating the low operating costs of an electric motorcycle. - This is actually saying that I need to choose a smaller, more basic gasoline powered motorcyle to lower my cost. But why would I do that when I can go for an electrical motorcyle, which any way cost less that GP motorcycles as per the argument? If at all, it strengthens. Look at it this way, ’A rider can come close to duplicating the low operating costs of an electric motorcycle by choosing a smaller, more basic gasoline powered motorcycle!’
way costs* (know I am being more punctilious than I need to be) :)
