A group of 6 friends - Adam, Barbara, Sam, Cohen, Denise, and Kate have been invited to a job interview at Company X. At least two people must accept their invites. Each of their decision to either go or not go is dependent on the following conditions:

Cohen goes if both Denise and Kate go.
Barbara goes if Adam does not go.
Kate does not go only if Sam goes.
At least one of Adam and Kate do not go.
Which of the following is always true given the above restrictions?

A) Both Adam and Kate do not go

B) Sam goes if Adam goes

C) Barbara goes if Sam goes

D) At least one of Barbara and Cohen go

E) Cohen goes if Denise goes

Somebody , please help !!

totally lost on this one

I think it’s D

Barbara goes if Adam does not go.
Cohen goes if both Denise and Kate go.
The rules guarantee that at least one of Adam or Kate does not go.
If Adam does not go, Barbara will go.
If Denise and Kate both go, Cohen will go.
Since either Adam or Kate (or both) must not go, at least one of Barbara or Cohen will end up going.
So, at least one of Barbara and Cohen will always go SO the answer is D.

Understood the logic of b

a) both don’t go - not always true... atleast one doesn’t go always true
b) Sam goes if Adam goes....
atleast one doesn’t go... if Adam doesn’t go, n kate goes - sam can’t go ... if adam goes, Sam can go
c) Sam goes - that means kate is out.... and adam is in.. if adam in barbara out
d) for Cohen - not sure if denis is going
e) untrue he needs both denise & kate.. what if kate doesnt go bt adam goes

btw.. what was the difficulty level for this... please tell me it was hard one above 700?

No. You’ll be able to check and get a sense of difficulty in a few days once there is enough history for this question. a-group-of-6-friends-adam-barbara-sam-cohen-denise-and-kate-hav-435108.html

Sam goes - that means kate is out.... and adam is in.. if adam in barbara out

I think this part is NOT always true

" kate is out.... and adam is in."

It has been given that "At least one of Adam and Kate do not go."

That means if Kate is out , Adam can also be out or can be in.

@bb , Am I right in my interpretation ?

Cohen goes if both Denise and Kate go.
