Waitlisters,

I feel your pain because I was in your shoes. Just an update to give you guys more info. I visited Kellogg and talked to a current student. She, like me, made a deposit to another school and then was admitted off Kellogg's waitlist so she decided to attend Kellogg. The thing is, she got off waitlist in July. July! people. I'm not saying the chance is high, but possible.

Vu.

Congrats on CBS - I loved their Cluster system...It just didn't love me. Best of luck in NYC.

So not to be a downer, but I think we are done.... The Kellogg 2015 FB group already has 571 people in it and last years class was 558 (when you take out 1Y)... looks like they have already filled it so it's pretty much just waiting for people to drop out. Guessing the last day will bring little news :(

That means nothing. All admitted students get access to the admit Fb groups. Just because you are a group member doesn't mean you've accepted the offer; I'm part of two admit fb groups right now. It's not indicative of enrollment numbers.

Not to mention that some FB groups have first and second year students in the group to answer questions...inflating the numbers even more.

Also, Kellogg's 2014 FB group has 712 people, if you want a like-for-like comparison. Still some way to go!

I finally heard back from my waitlist manager. She said she pulled my file and there were no requests for clarification. Is that a good, bad, or neutral thing? To me it would seem that no comments meant your application was thorough or made sense. No comments could also mean that there was nothing extraordinary enough to warrant questions. Ughh any ideas? Or am i stressing over nothing?

You're stressing over nothing...or at least the wrong thing. If it was the latter (nothing extraordinary) then you wouldn't be on the waitlist.

I would say neutral. In my opinion, it pretty much means they like you, but don't have room for you at the moment or are waiting to see how the class ends up and whether you are the type of person they are looking to fill the class with. At this point I think they are waiting to see who ends up not matriculating and where they need to fill those gaps. So if quite a few female finance types don't matriculate and you're a female finance type then they might accept you. Alternatively, maybe they don't have some notable absences in the class profile but need to fill a few spots, then my guess is they will just review the waitlist and see who stands out. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that your chance of getting in at this point is pretty much dependent on how many spots are empty after deposits are paid and what types of profiles they want to fill the class with. While request for clarification might mean if you properly clarify then you're in, not needing any more info probably applies to 90% of people on the waitlist and at that point it's just a numbers game.

Kellogg has tens of exchange partnerships with other business schools. That number could have been increased by a large number of exchange students coming to Kellogg during the exchange period. However, I wouldn’t be pessimistic, either. I don’t think mostly all of the spots are occupied. I have no strong external data to support my argument. It’s just my feeling based on talks with cross-admitted students from my area. Many of them are not going to Kellogg, they are going to somewhere else.

Well, the Waitlist FAQ is updated to reflect no additional notification dates, but my WL letter remains the same and I have received no email notification of change.
