did anyone complete the haas kroll check?

what exactly does haas check for?
also do companies actually reveal your salary info? I dont think they do so .I dont think they even reveal your title.

All that they verify is your start date and end date!!!!

I did, and it was over and done with in about 3 days (including 2 days spent trying to contact one of my part-time employers who is normally unreachable). They never told me exactly what they verified but as I've said before on here, I don't think anyone is going to get penalized for a small typo or an honest mistake--if something doesn't add up they will ask you to clarify. The only things that will get you in trouble are if you made a deliberate attempt to deceive the AdCom about who you are and what you've done in your career, or if you failed to mention any criminal or legal incidents in your past. They just want to know that you've worked for who you claim to have worked for, and in the locations and capacities you claimed in your application and resume.

If I remember right all I put on the form before I faxed it in was my name, SSN, and birthdate. There are also boxes for maiden name, other names you've gone by, etc. So I'm guessing Haas gives them a list of big-picture stuff they want verified based on what you submitted in your application.

thanks for replying

i spoke to my HR today!! and yes they reveal Title ,start and end date.....this explains why so many people are busted!!

The form you signed was to consent the agency to do a background check.
We all sign a similar form when we apply for a job.

You probably never signed a form consenting company XYZ to release your financial data! (did you?)

without this concent, no big company will release such data.

but if they want ur financial data they can ask for a W2!!!

Iknow of a case where the comittee conducted a verification before releasing the result!!!

Do I have to indicate company's contact number and person in KRoll's application, or they will reach our them without my help?

Guys,

In my application which was submitted on jan 3, I have indicated salary expectation rather than actual figures, as well as the budgeted bonus for the upcoming year, discrepancy is not very small. What shall I do ? any ideas?

I worried about this exact thing. On the Kroll form I put my actual earnings number. If that number matches what they find out then there is no problem. Also remember, the school does not want to turn you away. So if there is something they want to question you about they will, not just rescind your admission offer. Ross explained that little things such as a few months on date or a few thousand on earnings are not even grounds to call me for.

So it's ok to have a lil mismatch on kroll's application and mba application?

Kroll doesn't have an application--they just ask for your name and SSN then they get the rest with their own research. If there's a huge discrepancy or they have trouble getting ahold of one of your employers they'll contact you. Just make sure whatever you put on your application is as close to accurate as possible.

emont is pretty much right on the money and I had similar experience with kroll. Some people have different experience because:

1. Different schools ask kroll for different areas to check
2. Each employer has different policies regarding background checks. Some are absolutely set on limiting access to employee info, other than basic stuff like length of your employment, etc. (mostly due to HR policy and legal issues)

Also, whatever info they gather by themselves, is not 100% correct. I have no idea where they found my undergrad graduation info but it was incorrect. Had to email them a copy of my official transcript to prove my graduation yr (which I submitted to their online form) and they accepted that as proof.

Just tried logging onto the Kroll site from the To-Do list using the .edu email I just received and could not log into the site. Received the below message:
"The Login and Password does not match one on File."

Anyone have the same problem?

It's not an application, it's just a form you fax in with your name and SSN. Then you pay online and Kroll does the rest based on whatever they get from the school. They'll contact you if they have any problems. If not you'll hear from them when it's complete.
