I have to decide in a few days between the two programmes.
Even though it is a really nice choice to have, it is a very tough one :lol:

On one side, HEC is a fuller program in my view. It is two years plus a gap year of internships, plus I would learn another language and get to live for two years in a nice campus with other students which seems really cool. (I only ever lived in the city so never had the chance of living the campus uni type of life.

On the other side, in my view LBS is WAY more prestigious.
Nonetheless believe the programme is less valuable academically and I believe I wouldn't be making as much friends/network.
Plus, I have close to zero work experience so I am afraid I would come out as a way less competitive profile after the program.

LBS has been my dream program for years but I am now afraid I would waste money and get a **** job afterwards.
In my view HEC is rational choice, LBS is the heart choice, but I am afraid it would have be a **** investment for me.

Any HEC/LBS alumnus around who could kindly give me his two cents? (truly appreciated)


p.s. some info about me: engineering w management bachelor in top uni in Italy, 3.55 gpa (top 10%) , 740 gmat and would like to start in MBB in London (would accept ow/monitor etc for one year before that)

gmatlore congrats on the stellar admits!

But what a tough choice to make now. I am not an LBS/HEC alum, but I have worked in a French company (and France) a few years, so I can tell you that HEC is considered extremely prestigious there, even more than INSEAD. If you have even a slight inclination to live and work in France and you can do without MBB for some time, especially since you do not have any industry work experience but can acquire some, I would say go with HEC.

LBS is a great global brand to have on your resume and can sometimes fast-track you to a consulting career. However, I am somewhat skeptical about how feasible it would be for someone with zero work experience and without proper internships during the course.

First off, congratulations! Those are some excellent programmes.
Since you want to work in London, LBS seems like a clear choice
However, do note that the HEC MiM is two years. Since you are lacking in work experience, it might be better to go for the two years program so that you can get an internship in between the years. This would make recruiting easier for you.
LBS should be more than enough to pass the screening interviews at MBB - after that it depends on you.
I would lean towards HEC, only because the two years gives you two shots at recruiting, and MBB is extremely competitive.
