Its a good idea to fake LGBT dats a different thing thats its not morally right to fake when ur not but who can possibly know , even better if you come from a country where homosexuality is outlawed you can make up a story that u r fightng for LGBT rights in your country sure that wud be a great story for ur application though, with a 700+ score can easily get in a top 10 US college. there is no way any one can verify whether u r LGBT or not.... I dont support this idea just saying.....

I sincerely hope nobody would support this idea.

The admissions committee cares because they are looking to build a diverse class of people with diverse experiences. And yes, being homosexual gives you quite a different experience that you can bring into the classroom. This unique experience can actually help your classmates learn and be more open to people from different backgrounds than their own.

Well, a lot has changed at b-schools since 2015, when this thread was last updated.
B-schools are increasingly trying to make their classes more diverse and welcoming, be it by including more women, international, first-gen and/or LGBTQ candidates. They also publish these figures in their class profiles.
As an LGBTQ candidate/ ally, you are likely to find a PRIDE club at most MBA programs - which is a great supportive group and they normally have several awareness and fun events lined up through the year. Applicants who identify as LGBTQ must look up these valuable resources when they are selecting their b-schools.
