Please help me with this question and also tell me when to use "As" and when to use "Like"

This is a fairly straightforward. This question test comparisons and use of "like" vs "such as". In this question we compare James Joyce and Virginia Wolf with what? With Brontes and Brownings. Hence A is incorrect since "idolization" is compared with Joyce and Wolf. The same with B. In C "that" has no antecedent. In D the use of "it" is not clear. So E. As for "like" vs "such as" we use like to compare nouns and this is true here. Hope it is clear
