Hello!
I'm hoping to get a feel on my chances of admission at top 20ish MBA programs (US). My reach school is HBS, and a couple which I feel (hope!) I am in the ballpark for are Marshall and UC-Irvine (I visited Irvine and really liked it). Beyond that I'm applying to a couple of other schools that are top 50 caliber, which I would consider "safer" options.
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Nationality: US
Age: 26 (at matriculation)
GMAT: 680 (39Q/44V/6.0 AWA)
Undergrad: 3.4 GPA, Accounting major, state school
Work Experience: Worked part time through all of undergrad. Spent one year in a financial analyst training program (during senior year in university), preparing for work at an I-Bank or hedge fund. Worked part time at investment firm as an analyst for six months following graduation (bad timing, this was during 2008)... Spent six months as a high school substitute teacher while looking for full time work. Have over a year experience in current position, management trainee in rotational program for the federal government. This position involves financial mangement rotations throughout different offices over multiple three month+ rotations around the US. Will have two years federal experience by matriculation.
Goals: Short term: Work in business development for a Fortune 500 quality company. Long term: Take on an executive leadership role for a small to medium business.
I know that I don't have a background that fits the norm, but not sure yet if that will help or hurt me. Also, my quant score on the GMAT isn't great... but I have improved from the overall 640 I scored when I took the test a year ago.
Any recommendations, thoughts, or opinions on possibilities at the schools I've mentioned or other good options would be fantastic. Thanks for reading!

You have a competitive profile for UCI and Marshall. I don't think you have a competitive profile for HBS.
