Hi,
There are two reasons why schools look at your GRE scores:
1. To make sure that you can handle the academic workload - that is clearly not in question here. Your GPA is quite good.
2. The second reason is to see how you fare in a shootout. If your profile belongs to a crowded applicant pool, then the score will make a difference to your chances of admission.
The alternative transcript will take care of the first scenario. But that is not under any situation of doubt in your case. Still - it is difficult for me to provide advice that goes against conventional wisdom. So I will just say - if it makes you feel better, build the alternative transcript.
Please note that the alternative transcript will not offer much help for scenario 2.

Hey guys, I'm looking to apply for MBA programs this coming year, and I'm slightly confused about how I will be perceived academically. I have a 3.7 GPA in quant fields (Economics and Computer Science), however my GRE quant is only 158 (verbal 160 so total 318). Do you think an alternative transcript will be able to make up for my kind of low GRE score? Or does my GPA take care of that? I graduated within the past 5 years so GPA is relatively recent!
