Is \(x = 0\)?
(1) \(xy = x\):
\(xy - x=0\);
\(x(y - 1)=0\);
Either \(x=0\) (and \(y\) can be any number) or \(y=1\) (and \(x\) can be any number). Not sufficient.
(2) \(x + y = y\)
Canceling \(y\) gives \(x=0\). Sufficient.
Answer: B

Statement 1
x could be 0 OR x,y could be 1 each. A isn’t sufficient.
Statement 2
x + y = y
x + y - y = 0
x = 0
I don’t think there’s any thing else possible.
B is the answer imo
