Official Solution:

Each statement alone is clearly insufficient. When taken together the following two cases are possible: $$A=96$$ and $$B=72$$ OR $$A=72$$ and $$B=96$$, so $$A$$ can be either 96 or 72. Not sufficient.

St 1:
$$A+B=168$$
A can be anything
For eg,
if B=60; A=108 and If B=20; A=148
Not sufficient

St 2:
24(A+B)=168
A+B=7
A can be anything from 1 to 6
Not sufficient

Both A and B also not sufficient
