DS ^ , why is the answer not C. As even for 4.001 hr for 480 kms. the speed will be <120.
The average speed may be <120, but at certain instance the speed can be >120.

I am not aware of it. Test centres pertaining to specific areas esp border regions - where the situation is tense might have been postponed due to administrative and safety reasons. But, pan India postponement of exam is highly unlikely.. As the war has not escalated still beyond proportion.

like r1 starts around july 2 nd week so when does r2 starts

september 1st week or after decision ?
Usually, R2 deadlines would start immediately after R1 deadlines. Schools announce their deadlines well in advance and your application is accepted in the next round after the first round ends.

Whenever you see the sqrt symbol in GMAT, you are always supposed to take the positive roots.

If the question were {f(X)}^2 = x-5 isntead , then the solution would have been : {-5,-8,-10,5,8,10} @Sayan597

Even roots cannot give negative result.

\(\sqrt{...}\) is the square root sign, a function (called the principal square root function), which cannot give negative result. So, this sign (\(\sqrt{...}\)) always means non-negative square root.

The graph of the function f(x) = √x

Notice that it’s defined for non-negative numbers and is producing non-negative results.

TO SUMMARIZE:
When the GMAT provides the square root sign for an even root, such as a square root, fourth root, etc. then the only accepted answer is the non-negative root. That is:

\(\sqrt{9} = 3\), NOT +3 or -3;
\(\sqrt[4]{16} = 2\), NOT +2 or -2;
Similarly \(\sqrt{\frac{1}{16}} = \frac{1}{4}\), NOT +1/4 or -1/4.

Notice that in contrast, the equation \(x^2 = 9\) has TWO solutions, +3 and -3. Because \(x^2 = 9\) means that \(x =-\sqrt{9}=-3\) or \(x=\sqrt{9}=3\).

Hey can anyone please explain why option 1 is the right answer instead of 4 :
because then you will get imaginary value which is not defined in the set X that’s why , had it been defined in the set X it would have been the choice
