What are the job prospects in the United Kingdom???
I am good with both locations. Which university is more recognised globally???
Both are great in their own ways. Comparing them is like comparing apples with oranges.

The question is a bit too broad. You can point to rankings to give you a sense for which school might be better with placement, but it really comes down to the field you are targeting, the strength of the alumni in that area, and the reputation of the career services office.

Can you shed more light on what you are targeting? Have you attended any admitted student welcome events? Have you engaged with alumni or current students? We are always happy to help, but we need more information and, truthfully, aren't necessarily the best people to advise on this matter. It's very school and individual specific, so you need to dig into your two options to determine what is truly best for you and the two schools to which you have been admitted.

Hello. I have 7.5 years of experience i.e 1.5 years of experience as a Programmer Analyst in Cognizant and 5.5 years of experience as a credit and foreign exchange manager in a PSU bank. I am open to finance and technology domain roles.

I have spoken to alumni of both B schools and have gotten good responses from both in terms of placements in finance/tech roles. I have not attended admitted students' welcome events.

I am aware that not knowing the native language i.e Dutch can be a disadvantage while searching for a job after completing MBA from RSM and UK job market is also bigger than the Netherlands job market. RSM is the best MBA college in the Netherlands while the same can't be said about Alliance Manchester B School which will make job searching in the UK equally competitive.

I wish to know which is a bigger brand: RSM or Alliance Manchester keeping all other factors aside. And also, which MBA would be more suited for me.

It sounds like the better fit is Manchester. Don't underestimate the challenges that not being in your target geographic market and dealing with a language barrier can play into your MBA experience.

Brand name can only go so far if you can't truly capitalize on its value. Based on your background, research and priorities, I would go with Manchester.

Congrats again on both acceptances!

Best,

Thank you for your insights. I really appreciate it. I feel it would be equally challenging for me to search job in both countries because of the language barrier in the Netherlands and Manchester MBA not being among the top B schools in the UK. But I do believe that Manchester MBA would be a better fit.

Though I wish to know which MBA is considered more valued in the European Market and also worldwide.

I believe the reason you are struggling to get an answer is that "value" is highly subjective. How do you even begin to define that? Is value determined purely based on reputation? Is it based on the strength of academic courses in a particular field? What about the "success" of alumni in the field? What about training/career preparation offered by each school? You can start to see how the criteria and questions can go in many different directions.

There are certain schools that are clearly higher ranked than others but after a certain point it comes down to the individual assessing that value. How one hiring manager views Manchester could be different than how another person views Rotterdam.

At the end of the day when schools are close in terms of pros & cons, you should go with the one that offers the best fit. Determine where you think you would be happy for 2 years and beyond.

Greetings,

It seems you are interested in exploring roles in the cross-section of finance and technology. Potentially a PM in a Fintech company will be well suited for you.

Considering there are better-ranked schools in the UK compared to Manchester Business School, you will be competing with a far more competitive pool for PM / Front end Finance roles in London. On the other hand, Rotterdam will open doors for you in the region, especially in Amsterdam where the likes of Booking.com and Uber are consistently hiring for PMs. Yes, knowing Dutch will definitely give you an edge, but personally, a lot of clients whom we have guided in the last 5 years landed excellent jobs without knowing Dutch ( of course now they picked it up after a couple of years of staying there ). Do remember that in case you are targeting Consulting roles, you should be able to converse in Dutch.
