Shweta,

First thing- Stop worrying too much. You will be fine.

Mail me your resume tomorrow morning. Send it to [email protected]

I am not going to work with you this year as I am going to give a lot of suggestions to you, and I want you to stick to them for next 10 to 12 months. You and I will start next year if you do like the way I work with people. This year, you will do other things.

And hey- I wanted to share some things I picked up in my career, and from your post, I know a lot of them apply to you right now :) - we have these displayed in our centres as well, as I know that a lot of people in the student community take burden not worthy of their lives. I am not trying to sell ourselves to you, and it is okay if you see it that way. But read the ones below( Specially- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 , and 8 )

1. Read this POINT Twice as YOU WON’T get it right the first time- “IF Your Admit to an IVY League is FOR YOU and ONLY YOU- this GAME will be tough! However, If you REALLY CARE About HOW will Others benefit just because you WENT TO Stanford, you will very SOON Realize that getting into an Ivy League is NOT A BIG Deal! It is Just a MEANS TO AN END! This POINT IS NOT ABOUT THE community SERVICE BULLETS on the RESUME and Essays- Every applicant has THOSE! Do not USE “Serving PEOPLE” for a Ivy League Admit! Do it the OTHER WAY- Use the Ivy LEAGUE Admit for “SERVING People” - and Make Money TOO!

2. ONLINE TEST TAKING- Test TAKING is a LOT like BOOKMYSHOW.COM. You go online, pick a date, and buy the entry tickets. If you don’t perform on the test day, you buy the TICKETS again, and retake the test. Funny thing is- you make it sound like a ONCE in a LIFE TIME Opportunity and PANIC! We are not finding a CURE To cancer and Aids!

3. If you do not have a very POWERFUL Academic past, or you think that you are AVERAGE, drop your past concerns right outside this door. TRUST ME. It is “How FOCUSED are you CHOOSING TO BE NOW” that counts. It is a FRESH START!

4. If you have been visiting this classroom for more than 8 months now, you are making TEST Taking a BAD HABIT. Get your preparation right with discipline, and commitment. There are better things to do in this short life than to spend years on Test TAKING. Get a SCORE, go out and LIVE!

5. It does not matter if you THINK you are not INTELLIGENT. It is the DISCIPLINE that helps you create a 99th percentile score.

6. If you think you CAN get a 99th percentile score, you are absolutely right. If you think YOU CANNOT GET a 99th percentile score- you are again absolutely right. It is a MATTER OF CHOICE- Choose carefully.

7. SEE Around- you will see lots of SUCCESS Stories with 99th percentile scores, and crores of scholarships. https://pythagurus.in/success-stories/ They WERE all NORMAL Human Beings JUST AS YOU ARE. They had same feelings and emotions as you do. They were very insecure, and did not know what future had for them. If they could do it, you can do it too. One thing that mattered the MOST- Discipline and HUNGER! Intelligence – NOT COMPULSORY!

8. Getting into a TOP Tier University is not an accomplishment. Do not make a BIG Deal out of it. It is a means to an end. It is a path to getting somewhere in your life. The Admissions committee members at Wharton, Stanford, Columbia and Harvard are interested in Simply finding out WHY DO YOU care about their COURSES- and THEY ALSO BELIEVE that an admit is just a means to an end!

9. “This is MY LAST YEAR, and I have GOT TO get into a TOP TIER University ASAP” – is the best way to CREATE ARTIFICIAL PRESSURE on YOUR BRAIN. Stop it! And Focus on Action.

10. The Circle of- Harvard to McKinsey to McKinsey Partner to Coolest Private equity Investor to MOST Successful Man that EVER LIVED will consume your ENTIRE LIFE- You can Simply Declare success RIGHT NOW and be quiet! Let us JUST Study and Create STRONG Applications, and KEEP THE Conversation about SUCCESS OUT OF IT!

One more thing Shweta- Do not get scared. You have nothing to lose. This fear won't go away even if you get an admit. There will always be a next stage of CRACKING BCG, or Promotions, or Becoming the youngest partner, and on and on, and this irrational fear just won't go away. You are just choosing to be in this new game. Just play it right, and follow the rules. Things will start to fall in place buddy. You have just started your life, and your career. Have fun, and study, and then again- have fun, and REPEAT.

Take care,

Jatin
