profile review posts to see the type of detailed information you would need to share in order for me (or anyone else) to give you a proper response. Nevertheless, given the limited information that you did provide, a 690 is too low to be competitive at top 20 programs. If you're applying from a crowded demographic (e.g., India), you will want to aim for something like a 740 or 750+ just to neutralize the GMAT. Beyond that, you would need to have stellar experience, stellar recommendations, and a stellar application (essays, career goals, school fit, etc.) in order to be competitive.
