Dear Experts,
Is Founder Institute (FI) (others - Startup leadership program etc) recognized by b-schools? FI is an incubator program (14 weeks) which takes ~40 students and help them to start with the venture. Approx 10-20% of students graduate and rest drop out because of various reasons. People might/might not become successful in startup the venture after completion of course.
My question is whether such course be beneficial for Indian IT applicant? If I have to show my career goal as entrepreneurship will this course make the application stronger?

Hello,
Well I've never heard of it before, but that doesn't mean its not great or not useful!
The thing is, when you get into awards and special programs and certificates that the MBA Adcom might not know about it is up to YOU to inform them of how great/prestigious these programs are by giving them FACTUAL information about the programs.
I mean let's say that program selected one out of 100.000 candidates, you want to be SURE to include such a fact, because even if I know nothing about the program, then at least I will know that it is pretty impressive.

Yes, successful completion of FI will strengthen your profile and your bona fides as an entrepreneur. However, it will not carry as much weight with admissions offices as successfully starting your own company, earning a GMAT score higher than your target schools' average, or successful graduation from an undergrad or graduate program. It helps, no doubt, but it's not a silver bullet.
