I posted this is in the other thread, but I got an e-mail asking about my interest in the school, whether I got accepted anywhere else and what my career goals and backup plan are.

Posted this on applicant page but might be a better fit here.

Just got an update on my 3rd round app. I'm WL.

As part of my application for the Part-time UT Houston program, I interviewed with an admissions counselor who is also on the admissions committee for the full time program in Austin. I don't think that really qualifies as an interview for the full time program, but maybe it does.

So I'm a 3rd round WL with no interview, maybe?

Do y'all think the WL is huge at this point? I have to get back to another school in a couple of weeks and I'm guessing the WL process will take longer than that.

Congrats on the waitlist! There's still hope :)

No one really knows how big the WL is or when we might see movement. For what it's worth I was waitlisted in the final round last year without an interview and remained on the WL until the end of July when I was finally rejected. At the same time, there were lots of people who go off the waitlist at the end of May and all throughout June.

It can't hurt that you interviewed with someone from the McCombs adcom. You never know how they treat that... probably doesn't hurt to ask.

Good luck!

/withdrew (from the waitlist)

Had McCombs accepted me when I applied in Round 1, I would have committed and not applied anywhere else in the subsequent rounds--alas, that was not how the stars aligned and I'm now headed elsewhere. This was the second UT program I applied to in the last 5 years that didn't work out for me.

Oh. Well.

Stay weird Austin!

I've also withdrawn from the waitlist. I hope that my spot helps someone else out! I'll be back to visit though-- Austin's too awesome a city to stay away from forever.

So surprised that it's June 19, and still no word on R2 waitlist. Disappointing.

Has anyone heard anything from the adcom? It is frustrating to not have a timeline or any sort of communication

Any movement or update for anyone who was waitlisted.

No, haven't heard anything. After the first batch of offers went out in early June I got my hopes up that every Monday a new batch would go out. Either it hasn't been happening or the people receiving the offers aren't on this site/haven't posted since receiving an offer.

It's been a frustrating last couple of weeks to say the least. However, we are in the heart of "mid/late June"so we should be hearing soon.

There was a post last week about someone getting a rejection email. So it sounds like the WL is getting smaller.

I want to call in and ask, but at the same time know that it is probably best to be patient. I just don't get how this is that long of a process for so few slots that are probably available.

I have not heard anything since the mid/late june email. I doubt there will be much movement next week due to 4th of July if this week doesn't produce any answers. Would be nice to know before the last minute where I am going to school...

Which email are you referring to? I haven't heard anything since March. Probably not a good sign.

What now. Thought we all were supposed to hear back by Monday June 30th. Has anyone called to see what's going on?

Does anybody know anything about what is going on at McCombs for the Waitlisted candidates? Has everyone rececived a declined notification or does McCombs not send out the declined notification at all except towards the end when they are closing their accounts for Co2016?

there have been multiple posts in the applicants thread....sounds like 3 or 4 posters were admitted the other day. So there were probably even more.

I would not accept a spot at McCombs after this experience. It's July 14th, and I've been on the waitlist since Round 2. I just can't help but feel like this is a laughable situation. Thankfully McCombs wasn't my only option.

Can't imagine getting a Management degree from a school that can't manage its own admissions process properly.
