Hi
Does a long unpaid medical leave (6-8 months) get subtracted from the no. of months of work experience?
Should it be revealed in the application?

Posted from my mobile device

yes, you should definitely mention it in the application. You should explain your circumstances via the optional essay

Will this be deducted from my total work experience?
Also, will it affect my candidacy ?

Hi doublewhammy,

It should not impact your candidacy. You just need to bring clarity to the circumstances that led you to avail this unpaid leave.

Technically, since you are not earning regular pay and hence not truly involved in your job, the duration of unpaid leave should be deducted from your overall work experience. If the deduction impacts your eligibility for the program, get it double checked. Get in touch with the admissions office or alums of your target schools to get clarity.

Hope this helps.

Cheers !
